Cookie Policy
Last updated October 30, 2026
This page lists the cookies and similar browser storage loretag.com uses, why, and how you control them. It adds detail to our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work. Others, such as analytics cookies, are optional, and we only set them after you agree.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cookie_consent | LoreTag | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies. | Necessary | 1 year |
_ga | Google Analytics | Tells one visit from another so we can count visitors. | Analytics, only if you accept | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current session for our analytics property. | Analytics, only if you accept | 2 years |
Until you accept, Google Analytics runs in consent mode: it sets no cookies and only receives anonymous, cookieless signals. We do not use analytics to identify you, and we do not sell or share what it records.
Other browser storage
Names you save with the Save button are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only, and are never sent to us. The site also keeps a short-lived note in session storage so it can reload once when we publish a new version. Neither is used for tracking, and clearing your browser data removes both.
Payments
When you buy a name pack, checkout happens on Stripe's own pages. Stripe sets the cookies it needs there for payment and fraud prevention, as described in Stripe's privacy and cookie policies.
Advertising
We plan to show ads through Google AdSense. When ads go live, this page will list the advertising cookies, and ads that use cookies will follow the choice you make in the consent banner.
Changing your choice
Use the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page to accept or reject analytics cookies at any time. Rejecting stops Google Analytics and deletes its cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). The tools work the same whatever you choose.
