LoreTag describes World of Warcraft: Forever only to explain what its tools are for. We do not use game client data, artwork, icons or logos, and no part of this site is provided or reviewed by Blizzard Entertainment.

Names are not checked for availability

Every name LoreTag generates, and every name you test in the name checker, is checked against the published naming rules only. Blizzard does not offer a public way to see which names other players already have, so a name that passes our checks can still be taken, or refused by Blizzard when you create your character. You are responsible for the names you choose.

Naming rules may change

The WoW Forever naming rules page separates rules Blizzard has confirmed from rules reported by beta coverage, and shows the date we last checked them. Blizzard can change the rules at any time, and the live game always has the final word.

Original names, no guarantees

Names are built from our own syllable lists and filtered against a list of restricted words and famous character names. That filter is not perfect: an unlucky combination can still resemble an existing name or a word you would not want. Check a name before you use it, and tell us at support@loretag.com if you find one we should block.
