Troll names in WoW Forever have a problem: the classic troll style uses apostrophes, and Forever does not allow them. This generator keeps the sharp jungle sound with letters only, then adds the surname that every Forever character now needs. Your first name can repeat across the region, but the full pair is yours alone, and every pair here passes the Forever naming rules check. For troll names outside Forever, try the troll name generator.

Troll name style

Troll first names are quick and sharp. They favour the z, j, k and sh sounds and short vowels, often with a doubled syllable feel: Zuljak, Rhujin, Kazrah, Tikzu. Many famous trolls use an apostrophe to split the name, but beta coverage reports that Forever rejects apostrophes, so the generator joins the parts into one word instead. Zul and jin become Zuljin-style shapes; we filter the exact lore names so you do not collide with the famous ones.

Troll surnames are where the jungle and the voodoo show up. The first half usually comes from a creature or a ritual object: Raptor, Python, Bat, Hex, Mojo, Bone, Skull. The second half is a grin, a bite or an action: grin, fang, tusk, jumper, shaker, chewer. Hexgrin, Raptorfang and Bonechewer all fit. Priests and shamans pull towards the ritual group; rogues and hunters pull towards blades and beasts.

Trolls also carry the best humour of any race, and the playful surnames are part of the culture rather than a joke on it. A first name with real menace and a surname with a wink, such as Zekrah Mangoshaker, is a very troll combination for a casual realm. On Roleplay, keep the wink out of it.

Because the sound is so distinctive, troll names stay readable even when short. Four to six letters is plenty for a first name. Spend the length on the surname, where you need the variety to make the full pair unique.

How Troll names work in Forever

Forever replaces the single realm name with a first name and a second name, unique as a pair across the region. For trolls that also means the apostrophe style is gone, so plan your name as two clean words of letters only, each 2 to 12 characters long.

Trolls remain a Horde race. Guides covering the beta report new race and class pairings in Forever, including the troll warlock, which makes the curse and shadow roots in the generator a natural fit alongside the classic shaman and hunter names. The class menu above follows the Forever class list for trolls.

The two-name system suits trolls well. A short, sharp first name plus a jungle surname reads naturally on a nameplate, and a whole troll family or tribe can share one surname across alts as long as each first name is different. If you used to play a troll called something like Zul'jak, the closest Forever version is Zuljak with a surname of your choice, and the surname is now the part that has to be rare.

Both parts of the name are checked together for restricted words, and names that impersonate well-known characters can be refused. That is why the generator skips the exact names of famous troll leaders even when its syllables could produce them.

The full list of confirmed and reported limits is on the WoW Forever naming rules page, and the WoW Forever surname generator gives you more last names for this race.

FAQ

Can I use an apostrophe in a troll name like Zul'jin?
No. Guides covering the Forever beta report that apostrophes and hyphens are rejected. Write the name as one word of letters only, and pick a surname for the second name field.
What sounds make a name feel like a troll?
Short vowels with z, j, k and sh sounds, such as Zuljak, Kazrah or Tikzu. Pair it with a jungle or ritual surname like Hexgrin or Raptorfang.
Which classes can trolls play in WoW Forever?
Beta guides list warrior, hunter, rogue, priest, shaman and mage for trolls, plus the new troll warlock. The generator uses that list for its class menu.
Are there female troll names?
The generator does not split names by gender. Endings like -ra, -ka and -jah read softer than -jin, -zul or -tak, so spin until the ending suits your character.
What are good troll shaman names?
Pick Shaman in the class menu. Surnames lean towards spirit and ritual words, giving pairs like Razjin Hexcaller or Tikzu Mojodrum.
What are good troll hunter names?
Pick Hunter. Surnames lean towards beasts and the jungle, giving pairs like Vashrah Raptorfang or Kazjin Viperstalker.
Can I keep the apostrophe style somewhere?
Not in the WoW Forever name itself, because apostrophes are reported to be rejected. You can still use the apostrophe form in roleplay text or a guild description.
Why are troll names so short?
The sharp z, j and k sounds carry the style on their own, so four to six letters is enough. That leaves room for a longer surname, which is the part that keeps your pair unique.
My troll name is taken. What now?
Change the surname first. Swapping one half, for example Hexgrin to Hexfang, usually frees the pair while keeping the feel.
Are funny troll names allowed?
Yes, as long as they follow the naming rules. On the Roleplay ruleset the generator switches the funny tone back to lore-accurate names, because RP realms expect believable characters.
