Skyborne names in WoW Forever belong to a new elven people from the floating isles of Skywall, and the Alliance branch, the High Order, leans towards the arcane. Every Skyborne needs a first and a second name, and the full pair must be unique across your region. The generator below builds airy High Order names with arcane surnames and checks each pair against the Forever naming rules.
High Order first names are light and open. They begin with vowels or soft consonants (Ela, Aer, Cae, Ori, Zeph, Lio) and end in long, carried syllables such as -adrin, -iel, -aris, -astra and -elune: Elaris, Aerastra, Oriel, Zepharis. Compared with night elf names they use fewer liquids and more open vowels, which gives them a breathier, higher sound that suits a people who live above the clouds.
High Order surnames come from light, sky and arcane learning. The first half is a sky word (Dawn, Star, Aether, Azure, Halo, Zenith) or a scholar's tool (Ley, Glyph, Sigil, Prism, Lumen, Orrery); the second half is something that shines or is recorded: gleam, spire, veil, glyph, rune, page. Dawnglyph, Leyspire and Starveil all follow the pattern. Compared with the Windshapers, the High Order surnames sound studied rather than wild.
Class helps you pick between the two halves of that style. Mages suit the scholar roots: Prismscribe, Lumenpage. Warriors and hunters suit the sky and lance words: Zenithwing, Halocrest. Druids sit in between and suit dawn and star roots, which keep a natural feel without sliding into night elf territory.
Because the Skyborne are new, players have no famous names to copy yet, which makes this the easiest race to get a clean first name for. That advantage disappears quickly at launch, so plan a surname and keep backups ready.
The Skyborne are the new race in WoW Forever, and they choose a faction at character creation. Guides covering the beta describe two branches: the High Order on the Alliance side and the Windshapers on the Horde side, both starting on Zephras Isle. This page covers the High Order; the Windshaper page uses wind and spirit roots instead.
Beta guides list warrior, hunter, mage, rogue and druid for High Order Skyborne, and the class menu in the generator follows that list. Like every Forever character, a Skyborne has two names, and the complete pair is checked for uniqueness across the region.
Each part is letters only and 2 to 12 characters long. Long elven endings can push a first name over the limit when a middle syllable is added, so the generator caps first names before that happens.
Both names are evaluated together for restricted words, so check the full pair rather than each half on its own.
Guides covering the beta place the Skyborne starting zone on Zephras Isle for levels 1 to 12, so your name will be seen first by other new Skyborne players. Expect many of them to reach for the same star and dawn surnames, and choose a less common scholar root if you want to stand out.
The full list of confirmed and reported limits is on the WoW Forever naming rules page, and the WoW Forever surname generator gives you more last names for this race.
Playing more than one character? The same two-name rules apply to every race, and each race page has its own generator and name ideas:
